Organic B&Bs, hotels & self-catering
The organic holiday accommodation listed on the right includes, B&Bs, hotels and guest houses that provide organic meals, many also ensure that toiletries, bedding and linens (such as towels and robes) are made of organic materials too. Many of these also try to provide Fairtrade products where possible and most are very environmentally aware.
Some of this holiday accommodation is on organic farms and smallholdings – a great way to ensure you get served truly organically. When in the UK the farms may be certified organic by the Soil Association; farms in other countries may be certified by their own local organic certification organisations (e.g. ECOCERT in France and the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association). There are many such bodies and few countries have just one certifying organisation, a pretty full list can be found here.
Where appropriate we've also included self-catering accommodation in this list; this might be where the cottage, villa or apartment is on an organic farm where food can be purchased
on site from the producer, or where the self-catering accommodation is provided by an organic restaurant on the same site. |
