• Sewing & Stitchery Expo, Washington: billed as 'the largest consumer sewing show in America' with 'something for every sewing enthusiast'. With daily seminars, hands-on workshops, exhibitions and demonstrations.
• American Sewing Expo, Michigan: another huge US show, offering classes, make-and-takes, fashion shows, lectures, demonstrations, contests, give-a-ways, sew party cafe and lots of shopping! There are also details of 'Sewcial' which is a 3-day sewing retreat.
• London Sewing Machine Museum: with over 600 sewing machines on display, this fascinating collection has been gathered over the last 50 years by the MD of the Wimbledon Sewing Machine Company and includes many rare machines.

The Travel-quest dressmaking, tailoring and sewing section lists holidays, courses, workshops short and weekend breaks which provide instruction dressmaking, tailoring and the use of the sewing machine. As this is a specialist holiday directory, ideally these will be residential multi-day courses which also provide accommodation as a complete holiday package, but we will also consider multi-day non-residential courses where non-local participants attend and (ideally) where the course provider offers advice on nearby accommodation, making it easy to turn the courses into a residential break.
