Singles holidays; help expand the options for solo travellers

We're looking for your feedback! If you're a single traveller please let us know how we can improve our singles holiday sections and help other single travellers into the bargain. We've a few specific areas we'd like feedback on:

Which sections should we expand next?
As well as our general singles holidays list we've recently added a new sub-section for singles skiing holidays and it's already proving to be very popular! We want make the singles section even more useful by doing the same for other singles holiday specialisms, what should we target next – cycling? – older singles? cooking and wine? etc. Please vote below:

Tell us about your experiences as a single traveller
New single travellers are often reluctant to take that first step and book a trip, we're putting together an article to encourage them and would like to include actual experiences from real life travellers. Please let us know what you thought of your singles trip, be that a specialist singles break, a singles-only holiday with a standard travel company, joining a standard group trip as a single person or just travelling alone. Pass on your experiences, tips, encouragement and mishaps to other lone travellers.

I've done a lot of solo travel (not on package trips, just travelling on my own) and I really enjoy the freedom it gives me. One of my best tips is to make definite plans for the evenings so you aren't tempted to just retreat to your hotel room – go to a film, concert or show, visit a exhibition or museum that's open in the evening, book up an evening walking tour or wine tasting, visit a local gym for an exercise class or swim. Hope that helps.

I'm a happily married woman in my fifties, but my husband just doesn't enjoy holidays like I do. We do one joint trip a year, usually in the UK, but I was getting frustrated by this, I wanted to see the world! About 4 years ago I started taking singles trips. At first I was nervous that I would feel out of place but soon discovered that many of the people on singles holidays are in couples, but are travelling alone for different reasons. So I'd recommend booking a singles holiday even if you aren't single, but are just taking a holiday alone.
