What's in a name?
Life coaching, personal development, self improvement, self help, self renewal, self awareness, personal growth – there are just so many ways to describe the process of improving personal awareness and developing potential, enjoyment and an understanding of life and self.
This Travel-Quest section lists residential courses, workshops, holidays, vacations and short breaks that focus on the self and which are purpose designed to help in the process of personal development. These will usually be guided by trained life or personal development coaching practitioners who will help analyze a person's position and help guide and motivate them in the directions they want to go. This will usually be on a one-to-one basis, but in some situations group work is also used.
Personal development can encompass many activities, in this section we are mainly concerned with those related to mental and emotional states, rather than the more practical ones like improving health, fitness, loosing weight or avoiding addictions etc – we have separate sections which cover many of these more practical activities, see the 'Also See' link above for these.
