So what are alternative hen and stag weekends?
They might include:
• One-off alternative stag and hen breaks included within a larger selection of other types of break.
• Unique packages not offered by the stag and hen specialists, or offering different and unusual twists on the usual activities and experiences.
• Unusual packages due to unique location (e.g. backcountry woodland or on the water), company specialisations (e.g. hot air ballooning or wintersports), staff (e.g. celebrity chefs or renowned experts), properties (e.g. a castle or narrowboat), etc.
• A specific different focus, perhaps on absolute luxury or extreme sport.
• An unusual theme, such as murder mystery or medieval jousting.
Advantages/disadvantages
The advantage of booking with a stag and hen specialist company is that everything is there in one place all sorted out and easy to book. It's a good option for overseas stag/hen dos, where it might be harder to deal with individual activity or experience suppliers.
One of the advantages of the alternative suppliers is that you'll generally get cheaper deals by dealing direct, you may also get a more flexible deal that you can alter and fine tune as you want. But the main advantage is that you'll get something different and possibly unique!
