DEFINITIONS FOR TOUR OPERATORS WISHING TO BE LISTED:
Apply for a listing >>
The travel-quest wine appreciation and tasting section is intended for listing holidays and courses where the primary focus is on wine education, including wine identification, tasting and appreciation, the identification and distinguishing of grape varieties and identify flavours and aromas. These holidays, breaks and courses may be held in a vineyard or winery, or equally they may be held a location away from wine growing areas and not related to the production of wine such as a hotel conference room, an activity centre or classroom. The emphasis should be on the tasting and comparison of wines from different areas and countries, comparison between grape varieties and wine making styles, and the identification of tastes, aromas and flavours. Courses may also deal with aspects such as tasting techniques; wine production; vintages and their importance; common wine faults; wine strength; looking at the 'legs'; buying, storing and serving; organic wine; and wine and food matching.
