Best time to go
The main (high/dry season) tourist period in Thailand runs from November to February, when the weather's good and temperatures are not too high. Between March and April there's a hot season when temperatures can exceed 40°C. The wet season runs from May to October and during this time the days are punctuated by periods of intense rainfall, but the rain rarely lasts a whole day.
Do you need a visa?
If you're visiting for less than 30 days you may not need a visa, but it's always best to check with your own country's overseas travel information services to check, for the UK that will be in visa info here». Ensure you have two blank pages in your passport and that it's valid for six months beyond your arrival date.
Villas in Thailand
Thailand offers a wide range of accommodation styles and standards from budget through to luxury. This section focuses on self-catering or serviced accommodation in the form of villas and holiday homes – frequently purpose built and with pools. Villas may be stand-alone, or resort based where they may share resort facilities like pools, spas, tennis courts etc. For the more budget conscious bungalows and chalets will often be simpler, cheaper and frequently right on the beach.
