FEATURED ENGLISH TEFL TRAINING/TEACHING

SEARCH TIPS: ENGLISH TEFL TRAINING/TEACHING HOLIDAYS

language classroomA special language category listing travel companies and language schools who offer training and recognised qualifications for people who wish to teach English abroad as a second or foreign language. As well as teaching opportunities to put the qualification into use, be these paid internships or TEFL placements combined with holiday time and adventure travel.

The most common qualification offered will be TEFL, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, although others are also listed (see our list below). This may be courses based in the home country and set up to prepare students to teach abroad, or many be courses held abroad as a holiday course. Some include volunteer options to teach English while gaining the qualification or after the course is over.

As well as the English TEFL instruction, this sort of break will often also offer volunteer opportunities and holiday/recreational activities such as sports, cultural tours and excursions.

Teaching English as a foreign language is commonly undertaken by gap year students and graduates as an excellent way to get the most from their time out. They gain valuable experience and skills while contributing to the life and work of a local community. See our Gap Year section for further ideas.
