This is an impressive windmill conversion to spacious and unique holiday accommodation; it boasts wonderful views over historic and picturesque Wendover, at the foot of the Chilterns. It is now without sails, but was used as a working mill until about 1900.
This brick-built Windmill is Grade II listed and is understood to be the 2nd largest in England; it's made up of five octagonal floors. It sleeps up to ten guests so is great for small groups. Spread over the five floors are five bedrooms, with various configurations, as well as a well equipped kitchen and dining room and a large sitting room to relax in.
ENGLAND: Windmill B&B in Scarborough, North Yorkshire
A unique and quirky windmill B&B and self-catering in the last remaining windmill in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This historic C18th building is now a Grade II listed property and offers both quality self-catering as well as bed and breakfast holiday accommodation.
Within the windmill itself there are two suites over four floors. There are three premier rooms on the veranda above the courtyard, each with a king-size four-poster and en-suite bathroom. There are also two separate self-catering cottages (one 3 bedroomed, sleeping 5 and a second 2 bedroomed, sleeping 4) – the cottages each have en-suite bedrooms and a lounge/kitchen/dining room.
The Windmill is centrally located in Scarborough, it's in a quiet cul-de-sac less than five mins walk from the town centre. There is free limited parking and Scarborough railway station is just a short walk.
There have been windmills on this site for over 400 years and the current structure dates from 1784.
