ITALY: Walking the Amalfi Coast in Salerno
A guided walking holiday along one of the most impressive and stunning Mediterranean coastlines with mountains rising from the ocean. This is a group trip suitable for everyone from solo travellers to couples and small groups.
The trek starts with a dramatic hike to the top of Monte Tre Calli, with its open views of the Agerola Plain and the coast below. Trails will follow ancient paths, steps, meadows and old mule tracks through hill villages, lemon groves and dramatic gorges. It will descend from the high rural areas down to towns of narrow streets and whitewashed buildings.
There will also be time to sample local foods and wine, visit the Roman remains below Vesuvius – the preserved Roman towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum; as well as enjoying the balmy Mediterranean climate. The trip is completed with the 'Walk of the Gods' offering amazing panoramic views from Agerola all the way to Positano – one of the World's greatest walking routes.
